My work explores ideas of impermanence through the ephemeral nature of light and movement, and has an on-going concern with the relationship between matter and light.
My work explores ideas of impermanence through the ephemeral nature of light and movement, and has an on-going concern with the relationship between matter and light.
My working process involves initiating a body of work by walking and drawing. The drawings often reference an ambiguous figure moving through the landscape , whereas, in contrast, the oil paintings focus on a still horizon at the end of my walk and the sense of emptiness and mood.
Striving for a sense of something tangible within the intangible, I invite the viewer to find a still centre and quiet psychological territory which borders the threshold between nostalgic association and something unknown.
