EDITORIAL
We are so excited to be creating a unique, online community space where our members and the Axis Team can share, connect with and support each other without the distractions and frustrating ads and algorithms we are increasingly bombarded with everyday on mainstream social media platforms. In a few months, all Axis members will be given access to our new community space, which will offer a range of networking opportunities and inspirational content to support our artists and their practice. Please help us to build our community space by completing this short survey. Once you complete this survey, you will be entered into a prize draw to win £150. We will contact the winner in September 2022.
Deadline: Sunday 18 September 2022
With September just around the corner, we wanted to let you know about a new season of events coming soon to Axis! Back to School with Axis is a series of workshops and talks aimed at freelancers and other creative professionals to give you the tools you need to navigate some of the most common challenges in your art career!
Including masterclasses by some of the biggest experts in the sector, we’ll be looking at how to make your grant application stand out, how to do your own PR and marketing (on a shoestring) and how to manage budgets and grow your social media. Axis members can access these events FREE of charge (normal price: £5 per event) #AxisWednesdays!
In September 2018 Jamie Hudson and Sean Roy Parker undertook a 48 Hour Micro Residency at our Newark Vacant Space. We spoke to them about their collaborative practice and the work they made whilst there.
For #Five2Watch this week we've selected five artists who have made work surrounding notions of intimacy, featuring: Tamsin Morse, Fay Ballard, Pak Keung Wan, Alexandra March and Marcelle Hanselaar
New Art Highlights of the week includes: Stephen Anthony Davids, Paul R Jones, Caryl Beach and Jan Lee Johnson
