EDITORIAL
For the next film in our series ‘What do Axis artists do all day?’ we talk to Emily Speed. Emily’s practice investigates relationships between people and architecture and power structures within that. The film was streamed live last Wednesday and was followed by a Q&A on our Instagram page. You can watch the film here.
For our next film we'll be talking to Nottingham-based artist and Big Painting Challenge Mentor Diana Ali!

This week we're extremely excited to kick off our Axis Graduate Programme with recent graduates from Leeds Beckett University, Swansea College of Art (UWTSD), Arts University Bournemouth and York St John University.
The Axis Graduate Programme is an innovative online artist-led professional development programme that engages recent BA arts graduates through tailored content, a supportive community, talks, mentoring, and insights - helping to empower graduates transition from academia into arts practice.
We are pleased to announce our participants for our partnership with European arts project, Destructura, are Emily Doyle & Madeleina Kay. They will be attending the 9 day forum in Tallinn, which is being held under the patronage of the European Parliament, and contributing to research examining structural barriers to opportunity and success faced by emerging artists in Europe. We are excited to follow Emily and Madeleina’s contribution to the forum, and as a partner organisation, we will support dissemination of the research findings and group projects organised by Destructura participants.
To coincide with the launch of our graduate programme, we've selected five artists for Five2Watch who have considered education as part of their practice, featuring: David Lloyd, Julieann Worrall Hood, Razvan Anton, Anna Chrystal Stephens and nikkita morgan.
New Art Highlights of the week includes: leon, Rosie Leventon, Lisa Traxler and John Cake
